Andrew Green

Violin and Viola, Piano, Guitar and Ukulele, Music Theory, Composition, and Songwriting, Improvisation

• Andrew is a composer, conductor, performer, and music instructor
• Music degree from Bemidji State University, with additional studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
• Over 13 years of teaching experience
• Composer of solo, chamber, vocal, electronic, and orchestra music.
• Former youth orchestra director. Director and instructor of two fiddle camps. Director and founder of the Weekend Fiddle Camp.
• Andrew has performed in the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra, Greater Grand Forks Symphony, opera orchestras, string quartets, jazz bands, with Mannheim Steamroller, and has performed solo piano improvisations.
Andrew creates individualized lesson plans for each student and loves to help each student achieve their own musical goals. He balances each lesson with proper playing techniques, learning repertoire, music theory, effective practice and learning methods, and having fun with music. His students have done many things in music, including: playing in their school orchestras, bands, choirs, and musicals, performing in their church, community concerts, and in the Bemidji Symphony, they have also taken part in various music camps, and have created their own music. Mrs. Melodie Allen

Flute, Voice, Piano and original compositions

 

Mrs Melodie Allen has been playing piano since the age of 5, writing music beginning at the age of 10 and has enjoyed singing in the choir since she was a little girl. She also began playing the flute in the forth grade. Melodie majored in flute performance, minored in piano accompaniment at Bemidji State University, where all her vocal coaches were opera singers which paired nicely with her operatic voice.
Melodie has performed at the Beltrami County Fair’s Marilyn Shutter Country Stage for over 10 years with her husband. They were inducted into the Hall of Fame August of 2018. She has also sung in the choir for the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra performances of Mozart’s “Requiem in D Minor” in 2015, plus Handel’s Messiah” in 2017.
Melodie has been working as a substitute teacher for Kelly Services/Teachers on Call since 2007, was a former Youth Director for 12 years and has a heart for youth. She has taught private music lessons since 1980, K-Adult, currently does music for weddings, special events, fairs, entertainment and more. Her specialties include Flute, Voice, Piano and original compositions.

Lead Guitar & Musical Arrangement. I have toured with national recording groups on the road including the “Fendermen”(White Lightning), “the Trashmen” (Surfing Vird, etc), “DJ & the Runaways” (Peter Rabbit), the Upson & Downs, (formally the Swinging Lads on the Ed Sullivan Show), I have aslo accompanied many house bands in the Twin Cities. While there, they backed up many Opry Country stars weekly. I taught music at Groth Music and B-Sharp Muisc in Mnpls. Music Stores in Brainerd, ST. coud, Duluth, Phoenix & Mesa, AZ.Teaches Beginning through advanced professional level guitar in many types and styles from Country, Rock, Jazz, Classical, Chet Atkins style finger picking, etc. with complete chord systems covering the entire neck fretboard to enable a person to play solos and improvise in all types of music. The same with Bass Guitar. Also 5 string and 4 string banjo Also Pedal Steel Guitar plus setting them up mechanically .to accomplish various copedents, pedal function set ups, and tuning each string pull to desired pitch and chord inversions and set up of the cams and rods, and complete chordal theory to accomplish the smooth chordal movement desired on the Steel Guitar.
